SOS Approch to Feeding

This is a feeding program for picky eaters that was developed over 30 years ago by Dr. Kay Toomey. The SOS Approach to Feeding program is an effective way to assess and address problematic feeding behaviors. We have occupational therapists trained in the program meant to introduce children to increased variety of food through a child friendly and centered approach. This program is for children with intact swallowing skills that may have some sensory aversions to food.

What about Sensory integration?

We work on sensory integration because the ability to process sensations efficiently is extremely important to attention, behavior, learning, motor development, and social skills.

Sometimes children can by hypersensitive to sensations and this can affect their behavior and food choices significantly.
